Retirement Income Sufficiency: A Comparison Study in Australia and New Zealand

We use the 2018 survey data from Household, Income, and Labour Dynamic (HILDA) in Australia Household Economic Survey (HES) New Zealand to investigate retirement income sufficiency Zealand. Our baseline results indicate that annuitized net wealth is greater for Australian retirees than retirees. However, enjoy a higher level of life satisfaction Further analysis reveals significant pre- postretirement top 10% wealthy retirees, mainly due homeownership within this group. study fills gap existing literature, which studies macro- microlevel influences on it also offers important policy implications.
